Rengener Drees Insider tip for bakers
The Drees used to have a special meaning for the Rengen housewives. They used its water to bake waffles because the dough obviously turned out perfectly due to the baking soda and carbon dioxide content. The spring water also contains 1,456 milligrams of dissolved minerals per liter and is high in iron.

In 1950, the Rengen carpenter Nikolaus Leyer made a new, open frame made of beech wood for the Drees. Back then it was customary to clean the Drees on Whit Monday. After the work was done, the girls and boys went through the village and collected eggs, which were then eaten in the Marthen Inn with music and dancing.
In 1980 the Drees was reconditioned with a special pipe and provided with a brick surround and a cover.
