Geopark Host

'Geopark Hosts' in the UNESCO Vulkaneifel Global Geopark are businesses from the region that organise activities relating to the landscape, culture and regional specialities. These include, for example, culinary, creative or active experiences with a regional focus.

Participating businesses take part in training sessions and excursions in the nature park and the UNESCO Global Geopark Vulkaneifel. The focus is on imparting knowledge about the region, its geology and tourist attractions.
The designation is awarded on the basis of defined quality criteria, which include requirements for the services offered and for business operations. Aspects such as resource awareness and social responsibility are also part of the criteria framework.
Geopark hosts are part of the joint information and communication initiatives of the UNESCO Global Geopark Vulkaneifel and are integrated into tourist information services.
