We are here in the North Eifel. To the west lies the Duppacher Maar above. In addition to numerous volcanoes, the Nürburgring complex can be seen on the horizon when visibility is good. In fact, on a good day you can even see the Michelsberg near Bad Münstereifel, 35 kilometers away. To the east lies Gerolstein, where you can see the Gerolstein and Daun volcanic cones. The ridge of the Salmwald can also be seen from this location on a clear day.
